For our WordPress clients that use contact forms it is imperative to have the same email address as the domain on the website. If not emails sent from the website will be flagged by email servers as something amiss.

Put another way if the email being used as a recepient of the contact forms submission is contact@gmail.com and the website is hosted on the domain myfancysite.com. Gmail's email servers will flag this as potential spam and will not allow it through to the gmail account.

But if you have contact@myfancysite.com and forward that to contact@gmail.com then contact form submissions will work correctly.
